MEET THE TEAM

Deaf & Disabled People in TV (DDPTV) is a disabled-led organisation made up of people who work in the industry. Our focus is on elevating off-screen Deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent talent within the TV industry.

Bryony Arnold
Director

Bryony is a disabled Drama Executive Producer whose credits include Then Barbara Met Alan, Treason for Netflix, and multiple series of the BAFTA award-winning Peaky Blinders. She is currently Exec Producing two new disability-led dramas series for the BBC and ITV.

As a loud and proud wheelchair user, she’s passionate about championing disabled talent in the television industry, and aspires to create an inclusive environment for all to work in. DDPTV reignited her passion for disability advocacy, and she has found a beautiful community she didn’t realise was missing in her life…

Plus she has the cutest dog in the world. FACT.

Charlie Pheby
Director & Event Lead

Charlie is a disabled Executive Casting and Talent Producer with over 20 years’ experience delivering standout unscripted and factual programming across the U.K., U.S., Asia and Australasia. Working both sides of the Atlantic, he has built a reputation for shaping bold, authentic casts and story worlds that travel globally while staying culturally specific.

His credits span premium broadcasters and streamers, including National Geographic’s Mygrations, Discovery Channel’s Trailblazers and India’s Ultimate Warrior, and the BBC’s Old Before My Time and Dangerous Borders: A Journey Across India & Pakistan. For ITV, he has cast and produced titles including Life On Marbs and The Magaluf Weekender, with earlier credits ranging from Come Dine with Me to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (U.K. and U.S.). Across formats — from reality and factual entertainment to documentary — Charlie consistently delivers dynamic contributors, emotionally intelligent storytelling, and meaningful collaborations with both emerging voices and established talent.

A committed DE&I advocate, Charlie champions underrepresented creatives on and off screen, embedding access, equity and authentic representation into casting strategy and production culture. He is an active contributor to industry dialogue, sitting on panels and steering groups for BAFTA, Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT), Creative Diversity Network and Film and TV Charity, helping shape a more inclusive future for the industry.

He delivers robust stories, future-facing talent strategies, and productions that reflect the world as it really is — and is occasionally spotted in Zoom sessions, diplomatically negotiating with a noisy dog just off camera.
